Confidential Therapy for Executives and CEOs

If you run a company, a department or a practice, the people around you depend on your judgment, and very few of them can hear how you are actually doing. I am Laurie Moore, LMFT, PhD, a private pay executive therapist based in Santa Cruz, working by secure video across California. Private pay means your care stays private. No insurance company reviews your sessions, and no diagnosis goes on an insurance record.

Telehealth only, by secure video or audio, for people physically located in California. Laurie, LMFT.

Pressure, leadership and the cost nobody sees

Executives usually come to me when something that used to work has stopped working. Sleep is thin. A win lands and the satisfaction is gone by evening. A marriage is getting the leftovers. Or a loss, a health scare or a hard year at work has reached a part of you that strategy cannot reach.

I work with you as the capable adult you are. Sessions are direct and focused, and there is room for humor. We name the patterns that keep you braced, look at where they came from, and practice something steadier until it holds. Burnout, anxiety, grief and the loneliness of leadership are all common here.

Solving the problem matters, and it is not the whole aim. I am working toward more peace, joy, purpose and fulfillment in your relationship to your work, your family, yourself and, if it matters to you, God or Source or whatever name you use. Your own framework leads.

You can be very good at your job and still be tired in a way no vacation fixes.

What executives often bring

Burnout

Running at full output for years, then noticing the reserves are gone. We work on recovering capacity without walking away from what you built.

Decision fatigue

Hundreds of calls a week, each one carrying weight. We look at how pressure shapes your thinking and how to decide from a calmer place.

Isolation at the top

Nobody at work is the right person to tell. An hour with strict confidentiality gives you somewhere to think out loud.

Home and work in conflict

Partners and children feel the strain of the job. We look at bringing more of yourself to the people you love.

How we would work

We start with a free 20-minute consult by phone, text or video. You tell me what is going on, and I tell you honestly whether I am the right fit. There is no pressure and no obligation afterward.

Sessions are $250 for 50 minutes, private pay, usually weekly at first. I am EMDR certified since 1999 and a certified hypnotherapist, and I draw on Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, somatic and mindfulness work, and my own Positive Re-Narrative and Repatterning.

  • Burnout, stress and difficulty switching off
  • Anxiety and sleep that suffer under pressure
  • Leadership transitions, exits and setbacks
  • Grief or crisis inside a successful life
  • Relationships strained by the job
  • Private pay only, nothing billed to insurance

Questions executives ask

Will my company or board know I am in therapy?
Not from me. My practice is private pay only, so nothing goes through your employer's insurance plan or an employee assistance program, and no diagnosis goes on an insurance record. I hold our work with strict confidentiality, within the ordinary legal limits I explain at the start, and I do not confirm to anyone that you are a client.
Is this therapy or executive coaching?
It is licensed psychotherapy. That means we can work with what sits underneath performance: old patterns, grief, anxiety, trauma history and the way pressure lands in your body. If you live outside California, or you want forward-looking goal work without clinical care, I also offer Positive Life Coaching, which is kept separate from therapy.
What do you mean by high-performance strategy?
I mean looking honestly at how you make decisions, how you recover, and what drives you, then practicing a steadier way of working. Many leaders run on a part of themselves that believes rest is dangerous. We help that part ease off so you can lead from clarity rather than strain. I do not promise a particular result, but this is the work.
My calendar changes constantly. Can this work?
Sessions run Monday to Friday from 12:00pm to 7:30pm and Saturday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, by secure video or audio from any private place in California. A protected, regular time tends to help most. I ask for 72 hours' notice to reschedule without paying in full, and if you are traveling outside California we pause, because my license is a California license.
