Concierge Therapy in California

Concierge therapy, as I practice it, is private pay care with one experienced clinician who knows your history and keeps your work strictly confidential. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a PhD in Expressive Psychology, based in Santa Cruz and seeing people by secure video across California. Private pay means your care stays private. No insurance company reviews your sessions, and no diagnosis goes on an insurance record.

Telehealth only, by secure video or audio, for people physically located in California. Laurie, LMFT.

What concierge means here

For twenty years my practice was entirely private pay, and it still is. The people who sought it out were often executives, professionals and people with public lives who wanted therapy without an insurance file attached to it. That is still who I see most.

Concierge does not mean a luxury add-on. It means the structure is simple and the attention is high. You reach me directly. We choose a time that fits your week and keep it. Sessions are unhurried, and the focus stays on what you want: more peace, joy, purpose and fulfillment in your relationship to your life, yourself, the people you love, and, if it matters to you, God or whatever you call what is greater than yourself.

The work itself is clinical and careful. I am EMDR certified since 1999 and a certified hypnotherapist, and I draw on Internal Family Systems, AEDP, somatic work, mindfulness and my own Positive Re-Narrative and Repatterning.

Your hour is yours. Nobody else reads the notes, approves the work or sets the limit.

What private pay gives you

Privacy

No insurance claims, no diagnosis on an insurance record, and no outside reviewer reading about your sessions.

Discretion

Strict confidentiality within the legal limits I explain at the start. I do not confirm or deny to anyone that you are a client.

Steady scheduling

Weekday sessions from noon into the evening, and Saturday afternoons, by video or audio from anywhere private in California.

One clinician

You work with me from the first conversation onward. No staff relaying messages and no handoffs.

How to start

Begin with a free 20-minute consult by phone, text or video. You tell me what is going on and what you want to be different, and I tell you honestly whether I can help. There is no obligation afterward.

If we go ahead, individual sessions are $250 for 50 minutes and couples sessions are $325, paid directly. Superbills are available on request if you choose to submit to your own plan. I ask for 72 hours' notice to reschedule without paying in full.

Questions about concierge therapy

What does concierge therapy mean in your practice?
It means private pay, one clinician, and an unhurried hour. You work with me directly from the first text to the last session. There is no intake department, no insurance company in the middle, and no rush to fit you into a template. I keep my attention on you and on what you want your life to feel like.
Why private pay instead of insurance?
Private pay means your care stays private. No insurance company reviews your sessions, and no diagnosis goes on an insurance record. Nobody outside our work decides how many sessions you are allowed or what we focus on. I have run an all private pay practice for twenty years, and for many people this privacy is the reason they choose it.
How flexible is scheduling?
Sessions run Monday to Friday from 12:00pm to 7:30pm and Saturday from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. We set a regular time that suits your week, and you can join by secure video or by audio from any private place in California, at home, at the office, or while you are traveling inside the state. I ask for 72 hours' notice to reschedule without paying in full.
